The Iowa Department of Revenue maintains required administrative rules found under Iowa Administrative Code chapter 701—1003 on the substance of the federal trade practice regulations prescribed by the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the United States Treasury Department. The Iowa Trade Practice Rules Reference Guide is intended as an educational tool based on the rules to provide descriptions of business practices that are allowed and prohibited among industry members and retailers to help ensure a fair, level, and competitive playing field in the alcoholic beverages marketplace.
