Industry members are prohibited from directly or indirectly giving, selling, renting, or lending any items considered equipment. This prohibition includes obtaining equipment for a retailer through a third-party arrangement.
“Equipment” includes, but is not limited to:
- Mechanized and nonmechanized refrigeration units and devices used in the storage, dispensing, and cooling of alcoholic beverages
- Tap boxes
- “Party wagons”
- Dispensing systems
- Shelving
“Equipment” does not include tapping accessories (including faucets, rods, vents, taps, hoses, washers, couplings, gas gauges, vent tongues, shanks, check valves, and “picnic” pumps) which are used in dispensing wine or beer from kegs or bulk packaging.
“Equipment” also does not include items considered to be product displays, retailer advertising utensils, consumer advertising specialties, select glassware, tapping accessories and coil cleaning services, tastings, or newspaper cuts, mats, or engraved blocks for use in retailers’ advertisements.
