Industry members are prohibited from directly or indirectly giving, selling, renting, or lending any items considered furnishings. This prohibition includes obtaining furnishings for a retailer through a third-party arrangement.
“Furnishings” include, but are not limited to:
- Money
- Services
- Chairs
- Tables
- Lamps
- Pictures
- Remodeling costs
- Bar sinks
- Carpeting
- Bar stools
- Display cabinets and curious
- Linens
- Linen services
- China
- Silver or stainless steel eating and other utensils
- Decorations
- Sound systems
“Furnishings” do not include items considered to be product displays, retailer advertising utensils, consumer advertising specialties, select glassware, tapping accessories and coil cleaning services, tastings, or newspaper cuts, mats, or engraved blocks for use in retailers’ advertisements.
