Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Revenue launched new capabilities to the State’s integrated tax and licensing system and customer-facing portal, GovConnectIowa. These updates provide new benefits to state agencies, credit unions, county assessors, auditors, and treasurers.
The Department is completing the fourth rollout of a five-year effort to modernize and simplify processes for individuals and businesses in Iowa. These efforts include a wide range of customer-centered solutions designed to better serve the people, local governments, and businesses of Iowa, while streamlining numerous tax-related processes.
On November 12, the State added additional tax types and increased online service functionality through our GovConnectIowa Program. This fourth rollout includes:
- Adding the following Local Government Services to our integrated portals:
- Equalization
- Distributions
- Utility Replacement Tax
- Central Assessments
- Statewide Property Tax
- Integrating Cigarette and Tobacco Products Tax and related Licensing
- Adding support for Moneys and Credits Tax
- Adding support for Motor Vehicle One-Time Registration Fee
To support this enhanced functionality, we’ve launched five new portals into our GovConnectIowa Program:
- Assessor Portal
- Auditor Portal
- Treasurer Portal
- Tobacco Licensing Portal
- Law Enforcement Portal
